Submission Guidelines

Read once, then use the checklist

Read these guidelines once before your first submission. After that, the Card Submission Checklist is all you need each time. Browsing existing cards in the deck is also a great way to learn what we accept.

The six things that get cards rejected

Almost every rejection is one of these:

  1. Not clinically relevant (preclinical minutiae)
  2. Not in question-and-answer format
  3. No accepted source with URL and access date
  4. Text copied verbatim from the source
  5. Missing Subject, Rotation, or Yield tags
  6. The card already exists in the deck

Get these six right and your card will almost certainly be accepted.

The guidelines are split into five short pages — use the Next button to read them in order:

  • What to Make Cards On — clinical relevance, scope, and avoiding duplicates
  • Card Structure — question-and-answer format, clozes, one-by-one cards
  • Style Guide — spelling, abbreviations, drugs, formatting
  • Referencing — accepted sources, citations, images and copyright
  • Tagging — subject, rotation, yield and special tags

Synced Fields is advanced material, mainly for maintainers.
